What is Airbrush/ Spray Tanning?
We are now aware of the sun’s harmful effects and damage to our skin. As a result, more and more people are opting for UV free sunless tanning. In under 20 minutes you can have a safe and beautiful tan, achieving the same results as countless days in the sun, without the aging effects.
This is the most even and natural-looking method of sunless tanning and our industry pros have mastered the art of the perfect, natural-looking spray tan!
What is the solution made of? How does it work?
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is made from raw sugar can and FDA approved for cosmetic use. When DHA is combined with the amino acids in your skin, it reacts by giving your skin a tan appearance. Allergic reactions are rare, but consult with your physician before your appointment should you have any concerns.
Our top-shelf solutions are customized based on your skin tone and your desired color intensity. Our solutions contain a light bronzer, or temporary coloring agent, which gives you an instant glow, and it washes off with your first shower.
It takes approximately 12-24 hours after the session for the solution to fully develop so you cannot shower, perspire, or put any liquids on your skin during this period (2-6 hours for an express tan). This formula is very light, virtually odorless and is not tacky and smelly as most booths tans are. After using solutions from all over the world we created the finest formulas to give you a truly natural looking glow. You can't get this tan anywhere else in Southwest Florida! I have a special occasion, what day should I schedule my tan? + **TRIAL RUNS**
Schedule your test run at least two weeks prior to an event. It is best to schedule an event tan 1-2 days prior to the actual special date (a tan lasts 7-10 days but should not be scheduled more than 3 days before an event). BOOK NOW!
If you have never spray tanned before, we do not require a trial but we STRONGLY suggest you do a test run at least two weeks prior to the main event (wedding/photoshoot/vacation/first date etc). Even if you have spray tanned before, every company’s solution is different and you may want to make adjustments.

Will your solution rub off on my wedding dress or tux?
The solution will not rub off on your outfit after it has developed (unless you try the dress on immediately after your tan or before you've showered and washed off the bronzer with soap - so schedule fittings the day before or after your tan).
How long does it take to apply?
Our HVLP turbine hand-sprayed technique will take approximately 20 minutes for a standard full body tan. The drying time is less than that of spray booths because the spray is a finer mist and the technician dries you during your session. The total appointment time for a new client is approximately twenty five minutes and less than 20 minutes for a repeat client.
Who applies it?
All of our tans are hand-airbrushed by expert Sunless Tan Pros trained by the Spray Tanning Queen herself, Angel Black - industry OG pro since 2005. We are thoroughly trained on technique, professionalism and safety.
Do guys spray tan?
Absolutely! Our male clients love to spray tan, as it is an easy way to look like a million bucks at an instant! And the best part? It's totally natural-looking so no one will know it's not real ;)
CAN PREGNANT WOMEN SPRAY tan?
We love tanning our B|Bronzed™ Babes through during this special time! Lots of mommas tan before baby showers, photo shoots, and even scheduled births (lol)
There are logistical and legal issues with doing studies on pregnant women and, to our knowledge, no studies have been performed on pregnant women at this time though the main ingredient DHA has been FDA-approved as safe for cosmetic use for quite some time. I have no problem tanning pregnant women but we always recommend checking with your physician first if you have questions.
Do you ever offer any other promotions or discounts?
We don't offer specials very often, but we'll occasionally offer discounts to our regulars during the off-season (summer/early fall).

What if I need to wax and get a manicure or pedicure? Or get my hair done?
Waxing: needs to be completed at least a day before a spray tan. Only threading and shaving are allowed post-tan, and only once the tan has fully developed (about 24 hours after the application)
Nails: It is best to take care of your manicure and pedicure the day before but it is okay to do so the next day as long as you do a polish change (don’t exfoliate or soak your hands/feet/legs). Hair appointments can be scheduled the day before or day after your tan.
I’d like to get a massage after my tan, is that okay?
Of course! As long as you wait 24 hours after the application - it is a great form of moisturization for your tan!
*Be sure to not get any scrub treatments, ask for no hot towel treatments, or use any products with mineral oils or rubbing alcohol/toner.
DO I NEED MULTIPLE SESSIONS TO SEE RESULTS?
Only one session is necessary to see results. (for Spray Tans & for Teeth Whitening!) To achieve a natural looking tan sunless tanning more than once in a 10 day period is actually NOT recommended.
We’ll assess your skin and determine which solution is right for you - most clients achieve the color they are looking for in one session, though a test run is strongly recommended.
For best results, schedule your tan 1-2 days before an event/trip. A test run should be scheduled in advance and completed at least 2 weeks before the event tan.
IS the tan blotchy, orangey or uneven? Does it look fake?

Does it smell?
Our B|Bronzed™ solutions are unscented and have an extremely light smell. You will be able to detect it ever so slightly on your skin but it won’t be bothersome compared to other sunless products you may have used.
Can you give me muscle definition or even out my tan lines?
Using a special detailing airbrush we are now able to minimize the appearance of tan lines as well as enhancing muscle definition by contouring areas of the body such as abs, arms, and thighs.
I don’t want to tan my face or I want extra on my legs, can you do that?
Absolutely! Everything is customizable. Typically, we tan your face last and always ask you if you’d like it sprayed. Most clients request extra on their legs so it’s not a problem at all to focus on a certain area. A full body extra coat is an additional $15+.
I am VERY fair and my skin doesn’t tan easily. Will I turn orange or be too dark?
This is every client’s concern so you are not alone. B|Bronzed™ specializes in color customization with darkness levels 1 – 4.
During your first session we will ask you a number of questions to find out what your color desires are and get you to the level of “bronze-ness” you wish to be. We will advise you of the color that will look most natural on your skin to give you a healthy glow that is never orange or streaky.
If you would like to be darker, you may always purchase another coat for $15, although, most clients find they reach their tanning goals after just one standard application.
How do tanning soirees work?

Come to us or we'll come to your home, office, or hotel (groups of 5+)! The tan must be applied in an air conditioned space at a temperature of around 75 degrees or lower. Your tans will be applied inside of a pop-up tanning tent so there is no mess. This process does not require a lot of space. Lighting is crucial – typically a large bathroom or kitchen have the best lighting.

What do I wear during my tan?
Our female clients have the option of dressing or undressing to their comfort level, we are professional. Male clients must wear underwear. Keep tan lines in mind when deciding what to wear during your session. A disposable hair cap will be provided, and we recommend that you bring a face mask (you can remove it if you'd like your face sprayed).
*Remember to bring the right outfit to wear after your session! Loose-fitting long pants and long sleeves are recommended! This protects your skin from the elements during the crucial development time, so don't wear tight clothes. Pajamas work well, or palazzo pants and a button-up. The topical bronzer may rub off on clothing but it will wash out of most fabrics. Also, bring flip flops to wear after.
What do I wear AFTER my tan? *IMPORTANT*
Bring flip flops, an umbrella, strapless bra and long loose-fitting dark cotton clothing to wear after your session - THINK LOOSE PANTS/LONG SLEEVES LIKE PJs the goal is to avoid skin-on-skin contact by wearing loose cotton clothes, while also keeping your skin covered to protect your tan from the elements. So bring flip-flops and a loose outfit to wear while your tan develops.
*WHAT NOT TO WEAR: jeans/shorts/leggings/dresses/tight clothes/tight shoes should NOT be worn for at least 12 hours while the tan develops.
How long do I have to wait to shower?
Wait at least 12 hours before showering, exercising, or using a pool. (don’t get caught in the rain after without an umbrella!). Do not put any liquids or lotions on your skin until after your first shower. *Rapid tans work a little differently and should be rinsed in 2-6 hours, detailed instructions included when you book online @ bronzebooker.com.
How long does the tan last?
About 5-7 days with no aftercare ritual. If you follow our pre/post tan instructions it can last up to 10 days or more (and lasts longer with a good tan extender). Depending on what type of skin you have (dry skin, oily skin) this will be a factor in how long the color will last. Your daily activities, medicatiojns and hormones can also change how long the tan lasts.
*We recommend scheduling a tan 1-2 days before an event for the best color.
How do I take care of my skin after my tan?
Try to avoid abrasive exfoliating products, bar soaps and any products containing mineral oil/alcohol/fragrance (like Dove/Curel). For best results, use gentle, PH balanced body washes (such as baby wash gel) or you can purchase one of our body washes, known for their skin-loving performance.
Long baths, pools and hot tubs are not recommended, as they have a tendency to make your tan fade faster. Pat dry after showering - do NOT rub! Apply a (non-aerosol) waterproof sunscreen frequently if swimming and moisturize twice daily with our tan extender. Avoid chlorine for a week after tanning.
How should I prepare for my CUSTOM SPRAY tan?
Ideally, you should exfoliate with a loofah, clarisonic, wash cloth, oil-free salt scrub, etc. (not come straight from work or school), and have no lotion, makeup, or deodorant on. You should shower before your session but not immediately before! Because the skin's ph takes an hour or two to return to normal after a shower, and this can effect the delopment of your spray tan.
If you are not able to shower 2-5 hours before, it is best you do the “pre-tan” process the morning of and purchase our Ultimate Tan which includes an EXMITT pre-tan exfoliating mitt at the appointment to pH-balance your skin and remove oils/makeup/lotion.
The cleaner and more exfoliated your skin is, the longer your tan lasts. Wax at least a day before and shave 12+ hours in advance.
Threading can be done after the tan is fully developed but waxing after the spray tan is not recommended as it removed the outer layer of skin and your spray tan with it.
Is there anything special I need to know about shaving?
Male clients often ask if they need to shave before the tan - shaving is actually not necessary as our airbrush system will spray through body hair, though for females we do recommend shaving before as it is a great way to exfoliate.
There is one caveat - if you have large pores you should shave more than 12 hours before or wait to shave until after your tan is fully developed as shaving/exfoliating immediately before can leave the pores exposed and cause the solution to settle in the pores - giving the appearance of small dark dots in open pores.
Can I shave after the tan?
You can shave (or thread) 24 hours after the application - just remember that shaving exfoliates the skin (and you do not want to exfoliate your tan off) so use a light touch - don't drag the razor on your skin - and use a fresh, disposable razor and soap-free sensitive shaving cream.
I have tattoos, does airbrush tanning affect them?
Did you know that tattoos look better with a spray tan? (and it's a good idea to keep them out of the sun so this is a great option to protect your ink!)
We've spray tanned new and older tattoos with no problem. If you are freshly tattooed and still healing it is best to use the ointment provided by your artist to block out the solution. Older/healed tattoos do not need any protection.
What methods of payment does B|Bronzed Airbrush Tanning take?
We only accept cash for on-site appointments, and credit cards in-studio (all booking is done through our booking app).
What are the standard tipping practices at B|Bronzed?
Gratuity is left to your discretion. If pleased with your service, a standard gratuity is 18%.
CANCELLATION POLICY | 24 hours required
B|Bronzed Spray Tans are booked by appointment only and your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Therefore, we have a strict policy for cancellations and rescheduling: we require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule (48 hours' notice is required surrounding major US holidays and 72 hours' notice is required to change on-site or group session.)
Rescheduling/cancellation is done via a link in your confirmation email any time up to 24 hours before. We do not cancel/reschedule via text/email/voicemail - all booking is done through the app.
If you cancel/reschedule within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, or no call/no show, you'll be charged the full price of the appointment and forfeit your session. (48 hours' notice required surrounding a major US holiday, 72 hours' for on-site or groups)
TARDINESS POLICY
Being fashionably late is great for cocktail parties but not for your appointment or for the clients that follow after you.
Out of respect, if you have to be more than 8 minutes late or are not prepared at the time of your appointment, you may have to book and pay for another appointment at a later time if it interferes with the client scheduled right after you.
We have a 24 hour policy for cancelling/rescheduling so this means you could lose your appointment AND have to pay for another time slot if you want to reschedule within that time or are late to your scheduled appointment .
To avoid being late please be sure to map the location before coming to the studio. We're punctual and we don’t double book or rush our clients - we feel that every client deserves to have a comfortable experience with the adequate allotted time they booked.
Due to the nature of this business, I am a big believer in making every client feel special and maintaining their privacy and comfort. We do this by making sure our technicians stay on-time and not having other clients merge into their personal appointment.
